If I Knew The Metal, I Might Have Given Five Stars
I had a fan on my front deck in coastal Florida. The winds salt destroyed it. The fan holder has sat uncovered for 15 years. I came across these and decided to get them to try to protect the wiring in the ceiling. These are a sturdy metal. The ad just says “a high-quality metal”. If it is an aluminum it will likely still look fine years from now. But the weight makes me think it is painted steel. Although it never gets direct rain, it does get very humid and the salt could cause damage. So, I hope the paint will protect the metal for a long time but I will keep an eye on it to see if and how soon it starts rusting.I feel for interior usage these are very nice if not overly sturdy. My one direct complaint is the screws are way too one for a flat covers it twice as long as necessary.

I feel for interior usage these are very nice if not overly sturdy. My one direct complaint is the screws are way too one for a flat covers it twice as long as necessary.

I got thi pack of cover plates because I I have a few projects to tackle, like adding I'm sconce lighting or covering recessed lighting to install a chandelier. So far so good. They are painted a weight that matches your traditional white cieling color. Additionaly, it pains well if you need to and blends in. These covers are made out of metR and rea a good quality. There realy isn't anything negative to say about this product. It does its job well.

These cover plates were perfect. I was able to easily cover the holes where my security cameras were installed. The new screws that come with the cover plates fit just fine. My next step is to paint over the cover plates to match my exterior wall.

I was very pleasantly surprised that these cover plates worked perfect for my use case without the need to modify anything. I have several old security cameras that were installed at the time my home was built back in 2004.
